Be Careful What you Say!

Some of you might wonder why I am posting this, but I ran into the small town gossip realm yesterday. Without going into too much detail and protecting those who might not want to be mentioned, I now know that one of the ladies that keeps Jake's Sunday school class has called him fat. This has to be one of the moments that people tell you about when they say you don't know hurt until it involves your babies. That comment was a stab to the heart! And besides, you don't call a baby (in a hurtful way) FAT! Yes he has always been a big boy and probably always will be. But please don't call him that!

So I am taking this as a lesson learned. Watch what you say about other people's babies because it may come back to their parents:).

That is horrible; I can't believe someone would say something mean about a baby! By the way, I think Jake is precious just the way he is.

SHAME SHAME SHAME on her! May her legs have cankles and her cheeks have dimples (YOU KNOW WHICH CHEEKS)! HE IS PRECIOUS-don't spend ONE minute worrying about that comment-consider the source! By the way-why did your friend consider it a good thing to share that with you?

I am so mad! People can be so stupid sometime. Jake is so precious, a sweet miracle, and don't worry about that silly comment one bit. May that poor woman have saddlebags for life....

Mine was the comment deleted. I thought it was going to post twice and it deleted both of them!!! I was saying different relatives told me that Darrell was bow-legged, Brian had big ears and that Laura had the fattest legs they have ever seen on a 1 year old. By time you came along, they knew how much they had hurt by feelings (I don't think they knew at the time because done of them had children at the time they told us that) and only told me how darling you were. Words do indeed hurt especially when it concerns your darling, precious children. You will be able to laugh at this (I say that and it has been almost 40 years and I still remember how much it hurted at the time) and we can all remember when....Kiss that sweet darling "solid as a rock" baby boy for me!!!

That is horrible! One of my girls weighed 10lb 14oz at birth and was always off the growth charts. You know what she looks like now...your Auburn roomie...so don't listen to ignorant people.

I am so sorry! Doesn't the pain just cut like a knife when it comes to your babies??!! Some people are ignorant and just don't know any better. He is a precious and healthy boy.

I'm sorry! I know how it hurts when someone says something hurtful concerning your kids. F-A-T is a bad word in our home and we don't use it! I don't know if Jackson even knows the word! I can't imagine even looking at a 2 year old in that way...HE IS A BABY!

Jake is a precious, healthy, child of God and is absolutely PERFECT just the way he is. No wonder so many children grow up to have eating disorders when people call 2 year-olds fat. Geez. I really feel for you Suzanne and as I sit here am mad for you. That is one of the most absurd comments I have ever heard!
